Survey of Churches in Amsterdam Southeast started

As of today we started with a survey of all church in the Southeastern part of Amsterdam. Leendert Roosenbrand has been added to our research team, he will conduct the survey by telephone. The Pentecostal Council of Churches and some other organisations have provided us with contact details of the pastors in Southeast. We hope to reach all congregations in Southeast by asking our respondents about other pastors they know. We’ve attended the conference of the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion in Tampa, Florida. A you can see at the picture, we’ve enjoyed the many presentations and interesting discussions during and after sessions.

Expert Meeting a success

Last weekend we organised an Expert Meeting. We invited scholars from the USA, Norway and the Netherlands to come to Amsterdam to discuss our research projects, and to meet other scholars involved in research on immigration, religion and civil society.

The meeting was a succes: we received many good comments, which will enhance our research. The atmosphere of the conference was relaxed and amical. We hope and suspect that this conference will be but one moment in a chain of future opportunities of cooperation.

This is the new website of the NWO research project “Participation of Immigrant Churches in the Netherlands”. The aim of this site is to provide interested people (researchers, persons involved in immigrant churches etc.) with information about our project.
